I made a Thing and you too can print this Thing for your Team Blacksheep Oblivion Frame.
Don't want to read on, here's the link to get it from http://thingiverse.com
Upon receiving the Drone Drop subscription this month I was pleasantly surprised to find a TBS Oblivion Frame as part of the boxes contents.
This being my first month on the subscription I can say that they killed it with this one. I mean that in
Not having a lot of spare 30x30 stacks handy at this time, I set about finding a way to mount one of my 20x20 flight stacks in there. The frame is already a bit heavier than any of my other carbon fiber frames so this may be a mild weight savings that some people are looking to do as well.
Long story short, I couldn't find one to run through my 3D printer. I thought about drilling the frame, but I so hate doing that if I don't have to in these cases. So off to Fusion360 I went and came up with this design.
The view above is of the bottom of the adapter. It has all the cutouts to fit very precisely on the frame and run the 3mm bolts up through the frame to hold this in place.
The stack I am using accepts 2mm bolts and the flight controller, 4in1 esc's, and VTx are all soft mounted using 3mm to 2mm squishes. So in this design the adapter uses 25mm long 2mm socket head screws. I got my hardware from PyroDrone which is another great company with fast shipping.
Printed out at 2mm layer height and Flexible PLA created a piece that is strong and slightly flexible. (think rubber duck type material).
Thanks for stopping by!
